Parting Prayer: Lessons in
Care-Giving for the Dying (Judson Press). His book can
be used by anyone—layperson or clergy—who wants to learn

drawn from his twenty-plus years of experience in chaplain

with others through the “valley of the shadow of death.”
Griffith is a chaplain for the Hospice of South Central

and Marcia (Facer) Bunnell traveled to Israel in
March 2006, where they connected with Brian Kvasnica ’95
in Jerusalem. Kvasnica and his wife, Shoshi, are with
Shevet Achim, a volunteer organization that
identifies young Arab children needing heart surgery, helps
transport them to Israel and provides financial support as
needed. Israeli doctors and hospitals are willing to rescue
these children, and in most cases bear a majority of the
expense themselves. As followers of Jesus, Shevet Achim
volunteers see this as obedience to His command to “Go and
do likewise.” To meet children who need sponsors for heart
surgeries, visit
www.shevet.org.

Paul Neeley, and
Carol (Gratrix
’69) Brinneman
have co-authored
All the World is Singing:
Glorifying God through the Worship
Music of the Nations, a collection of 45 short
stories that show the ways God is using music around the
world to further His kingdom. The story contributors, from a
wide geographical spectrum, share what it means for God’s
people to worship, evangelize and celebrate with their own
culturally-appropriate Christian music. This book shows the
ways missionaries use ethnomusicology training to reach
people for Christ. Read more about it at
