Houghton offered this program in close collaboration with Kingsley College in Melbourne.  This is no longer possible necessitating the redesign.

*INCL 310 pre-requisite; for INCL Majors and Minors.

• Minimum 2.75 GPA.
• Passport current beyond program end.

Accommodations

Students will reside in flats (apartments) on the Kingsley College campus in Glenroy, a residential suburb of Melbourne. An extensive and convenient public transportation system provides access throughout the multicultural metropolis of Melbourne. The capital city of the State of Victoria is home to over 3 million people. Home stays are also available for students who want a full, cross-cultural immersion experience.

Students will have access to e-mail and the Internet at Kingsley College, where most classes will also be scheduled. In addition to the Kingsley library, students may also make use of the state library and the library at the University of Melbourne, with borrowing privileges available. Routine health care is readily available through a nearby clinic in Glenroy, and emergency medical care is available at nearby hospitals. Students must carry U.S. health insurance.

Alternatively, paper forms can be acquired from the link below, or directly from Dr. Walters or Dr. Young. Apply by November 1, 2007 for December notification of application acceptance. After that, applications accepted continuously based on program space. Early application is advantageous.

Cost

Houghton tuition plus program fees. Houghton financial aid applies for Houghton students.

Sample costs:

• Tuition $10,810 (Fall 2007)
• Program $4,985 (Includes room, board, fees, and airfare)
• 2007 Total $15,795

Students must acquire their own long-stay visitor visa. Cost is $55, plus a pre-paid return envelope, as of April, 2005. Students must also have health insurance that covers them while in Australia.
