What have you done after college and what are you doing now (especially related to biology)?

  1. Directed environmental education and experiential outdoor recreation program (Dallas, TX)
  2. Graduate studies in environmental sociology (University of Tennessee, Knoxville)
  3. Directed environmental and social justice study abroad program in New Zealand for North American university students from Christian colleges (Creation Care Study Program)
  4. Teaching in sociology and environment (Houghton College) I am currently involved in a local Mennonite fellowship; interested in exploring new ways of worshiping and integrating faith and spirituality into everyday life.

What factors and influences have guided your path to this point in your career?

My core interest in the intersection between religion and environmental ethics; my interest in being involved in education.

How did your studies and Houghton experience prepare you?

Introduced me to field, theory, and science of the field of ecology; encouraged the exploration of the human/social dimensions of the environment; demonstrated the integration of faith and academics.

What advice can you give others interested in Biological Studies?

Inquire with current students; be willing to explore new possibilities.
