Experience:

Professor Katie Buvoltz's background includes a blend of academic, corporate, and ministry experiences. Presently, she serves part-time as an Assistant Professor of Business and Communication at Houghton College and part-time as Director of Academic Programs for Houghton College P.A.C.E. (Program for Accelerating College Education). As Director of Academic Programs, she is charged with recruiting and developing faculty, strengthening program assessment, and helping implement the P.A.C.E. strategic plan. Additionally, she recruits and advises P.A.C.E. students at the Jamestown location, coordinates the experiential learning process for all P.A.C.E. students, and attends to various special projects.

Experiences prior to Houghton College include five years of human resources administration alongside various training and development activities. Additionally, Professor Buvoltz served ten years in Covenant Players, an international repertoire theater company. Almost 2/3 of her service was overseas, headquartered out of Heilbronn, Germany and Northants, England.

Professor Buvoltz has spent over 17 years creating and conducting training programs in areas such as communication, time management, customer service, sexual harassment, leadership, supervision, and employment orientation.

She has a passion for human resources development (specifically individual, career, and organizational development), adult education, accelerated learning, autonomous learning, and self-directed learning.
