Experience:
Professor Katie Buvoltz's background includes a
blend of academic, corporate, and ministry experiences.
Presently she serves part-time as an Assistant Professor of
Business and Communication at Houghton College and part-time
as a Program Coordinator for Houghton College P.A.C.E.
(Program for Accelerating College Education). As a Program
Coordinator, she recruits and advises students, coordinates the
experiential learning process, and attends to various special
projects.
Experiences prior to Houghton College include five years of
human resources administration alongside training and
development activities. Additionally, Professor Buvoltz
served 10 years in Covenant Players, an international
repertoire theater company. Almost 2/3 of her service was
overseas; headquartered out of Heilbronn, Germany and
Northants, England.

Professor Buvoltz has spent over 17 years
creating and conducting training programs in areas such as
communication, time-management, customer service, sexual
harassment, leadership, supervisory, and employment orientation.
She
has a passion for human
resources development (specifically individual, career, and
organizational development) adult education, accelerated
learning, autonomous learning, and self-directed learning.
Leadership development interests include transformational,
servant, and authentic leadership.
