Phil Fenwick
'95
Phil, originally from the Albany area, determined while a
student here that he wanted to combine his interest in German
with his business preparation and pursue a future in
international business. To help prepare himself, he participated
in the 10-week International Business Institute program in the
summer, followed by a semester's internship in Buffalo at a
company with international opportunities. After graduation, this
same firm,
Baillie Lumber, were so impressed with Phil they offered him
a full-time position in international sales. This job has taken
Phil everywhere from Europe, Russia, and Egypt to Singapore and
Hong Kong.
Phil met his wife, Jennifer (SantaAna) at
Houghton, and they now own a house in the Buffalo suburb of
Marilla. Jen teaches music in the Williamsville school system.
The monthly Guest Executive Dinner series is sponsored by Houghton's business department for the purpose of increasing student exposure to marketplace professionals from various fields and service opportunities to be both salt and light after college.
