Our first speaker is Mr. Robert Van Dyk. Some of you may know him as a Houghton Alum, others as a member of Houghton’s President Advisory Board. Mr. Van Dyk is the President and CEO of Van Dyk Health Care. Since graduating from college in 1975 and Graduate School in 1978 he has and continues to be involved in numerous and varied areas of interest.

Robert Van Dyk talked about obvious and not so obvious job opportunities in the health care field. His presentation drew on his experience in acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and long-term care. He commented that he can not think of a single major at Houghton that he hasn’t seen hired or utilized within the health care field. From art, music, and physical education to business, computers, marketing, and communication, to psychology, sociology, biology, chemistry, and anything in between.
