Tom Taylor
Tom
Taylor is President of Taylor Capital Management in Wheaton,
Illinois (western suburb of Chicago), where he was born and
raised. He attended Taylor University for two years on a
wrestling scholarship and then transferred to Wheaton College,
where he majored in philosophy and English literature.
Tom’s journey to his current occupation had many twists and
turns. He held many types of different jobs and owned two
construction companies before getting the necessary licenses to
move into investments. He credits those different occupations
as having given him the needed tools, business skills, people
skills, and networking opportunities that help him today. After
spending five years with Morgan Stanley, he went off on his own
to form Taylor Capital Management, where his passion is to do
financial planning and money management of investment portfolios
for clients. He enjoys sitting down with people and helping them
to develop a “road map” to take them where they are currently
financially and to get them where they want to be to meet their
personal goals.
Mr. Taylor was our guest on April 21, 2006. Click here for his remarks.
The monthly Guest Executive Dinner series is sponsored by Houghton's business department for the purpose of increasing student exposure to marketplace professionals from various fields and service opportunities to be both salt and light after college.
