Molly SpearBA, Houghton College, 1977

Experience: Molly has worked in the medical profession from “head to toe,” first as an optometric assistant in Syracuse, NY, and later as a podiatric assistant in Fort Worth, TX. After living in Texas for ten years while her husband attended seminary and was an assistant pastor for youth ministries in a large Bible church, she and her family returned to Western NY in 1999.

Molly began working at Houghton College in the Advancement Office as Word Processing Coordinator and then Gift Processor. In August 2000 she became a faculty secretary (now titled Academic Departments Coordinator) for three departments: Business & Economics, History & Political Science, and Psychology & Sociology.

Areas of Interest: Molly’s other involvements include serving with her husband at First Baptist Church in Franklinville, creating PowerPoint shows for Sunday morning services, and playing the keyboard or piano for several of the church praise teams. She is a notary public for the State of New York.

Molly is married to Peter Spear, ’77, and is the mother of Erin (Spear) Gorham, ’04, Ryan, ’07, and Jonathan, '11. She is the proud grandmother of three boys: Ayden James Gorham, Ethan Benaiah Gorham, and Griffin Ryan Spear.
