Profile:

I make my residence in Buffalo where I am an active participant in the community. In my work with Houghton College I have served in positions ranging from Dean of Students, Dean of the West Seneca Campus, Co-director for the Center for Technology in Education, and most recently as Coordinator for the Office of Urban Connections and Director of the Wesley Service Corps. I also supervise student teachers placed in Buffalo area schools and teach the course titled Teaching in Urban America for our Adolescence, Inclusive Childhood, and Physical Education majors.

Program Development:

Developed the Houghton College Office for Urban Connections. (2007).

Started the Houghton College Math Camp, in collaboration with Connie Finney (annual camp for 3rd graders from an urban school and a rural school). (2004).

Established the Houghton College Urban and Rural Teacher Corps Program, in collaboration with the Western New York AmeriCorps. (2003).

Wrote the application for the startup of the King Center Charter School, in collaboration with Claity P. Massey (first charter school to open in Western New York State). (2000).

A founding member of the King Urban Life Center board of directors (restored and renovated a former Catholic Church building in a poor community in Buffalo, New York). (1988-1998).

Led the teams that developed Houghton College’s Program for Accelerating College Education (adult degree completion program – BS in Management) and Pastoral and Church Ministries Program (urban program in Buffalo, New York – AAS in Christian Ministries). (1987-1990).
