Sacred Honor Choir Events
The Houghton College Choir announces its Sacred Honor Choir opportunities for high school singers across the country. “We would like to support the music education of Christian music students across the country,” says Dr. Brandon Johnson, conductor of the Houghton College Choir and director of choral activities for The Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College. “Often the small Christian schools do not have an honor choir outlet and we hope to expose high school students to the highest level of music making possible.”
In 2012 the choir will offer eight Sacred Honor Choir events in three states. High school students will be invited to the concert hall for a rehearsal with Dr. Brandon Johnson; a meal with the students of the Houghton College Choir; a vocal master class; and will join the Houghton College Choir in singing two pieces on the tour concert. Johnson states that “It will be a musical experience students can take back to their schools and build upon.”
