Program Overview
While planning for your teaching career, you'll gain practical,
in-classroom experience during your time at Houghton. In
addition, you'll complete a full semester of student teaching
with exposure to both public and private schools as well as home
school curricula.
The Department of Physical Education also houses minors in physical education (15.5 credit hours), Athletic Training (16 credit hours), and Pre-Physical Therapy (16 credits). Members of the physical education faculty offer diverse educational and experiential backgrounds, including teaching, research, athletic training, and coaching. They exemplify servant-scholarship and encourage students to do the same.
