Program Overview
Mission
The premedical program at Houghton College seeks to provide the spiritual and scholarly foundation needed for those students interested in medicine to assess their vocational calling as Christian physicians and to achieve academic excellence in preparation for successful application to medical school.
Registration and Advising
In addition to their primary academic advisor (within their major) each premed student will meet regularly (ideally once a semester) with the premed advisor, currently, Dr. Jamie Potter. Each student is required to complete a premed advisee registration form when they declare their intention of pursuing the premedical track. These forms are available online or in the division office of the science building (Paine 218). Completed forms should be returned to the premed advisor. Once the registration form is returned, an initial meeting with the premed advisor will be arranged.
