Jessica Schell:  My Time at Houghton

My time at Houghton was challenging, exciting, and gave me the opportunity to grow as a person. Houghton helped me learn in a variety of ways through classroom discussions, friends, professors, and my overseas experience.   I have always felt called into ministry and since Houghton I have been able to fulfill that dream and passion in my life. 

I accepted a call to Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, FL; a church of about 700 with 160 kids in attendance on Sunday mornings.   I feel so blessed to be serving in this church as the full time Children's Pastor.   It is a continual learning experience and a wonderful blessing to serve in a church so filled with God's presence.  

Houghton College, and all it has to offer, played a big role in making my passion for ministry become a reality.
