Payment of Tuition and Fees
For Fall 2011, student billing statements will be issued in July for all students who have registered for courses. Payment is due August 15.
All necessary financial aid paperwork must be submitted to the Student Financial Services Office (SFSO) before financial aid may be awarded.
The college accepts two payment methods for any balance owed after aid and/or loans are applied:
- Payment in full prior to each semester
- Monthly payments made through Tuition Management Systems. Enroll at 800-722-4867 or payments may be made online here
.
Registration
Registration is the process in which a student selects courses and meets all financial obligations.
Registration verifies that the student is enrolled at Houghton College and that all financial arrangements are in order.
Steps to Complete Registration
- Select courses with the Academic Records Office. Financial aid is based on full-time attendance of 12–18 credit hours per semester.
- Return the Financial Registration Form with your payment by August 17.
- If you are participating in the Tuition Management Systems monthly plan, your payments must be on schedule and the contract amount must be sufficient to cover the fall and spring semesters, unless you have a Fall-only contract.
- Make sure all financial aid paperwork is on file with SFSO.
- Apply for loans by July 27. Loans must be approved before
registration is final.
Students who have not completed registration will receive an e-mail when they arrive on campus and must complete registration in person at the SFSO by the first day of classes. Failure to completely register by August 17 for Fall 2010 may subject your student account to a $250 late registration fee.
Students may charge textbook purchases at the Campus Store to their student accounts. School supplies may also be charged to student accounts during the first two weeks of each semester. The Campus Store accepts cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, debit cards, traveler's checks, money orders, and store gift cards as payment.
