Application Instructions
In order to have your application for admission reviewed by the Admission Committee, the following items must be submitted. You can complete the application online or download and print the required documents.

Music
|
Undergraduate music majors must complete the undergraduate School of Music application, in addition to the Houghton College application for admission. An audition is also required. |

Important Notes
*If you are a first-year student and have completed courses through a college or university, you should have official transcripts sent to Houghton.
**If you are a transfer student and have already earned a college degree (BA, BS, AA, AS) you are not required to submit a high school transcript. All other transfers are required to send an official high school transcript.
SAT/ACT scores
Houghton will accept either SAT or ACT scores. If multiple scores are sent, we will re-calculate your score using the highest sub-scores. When looking at the SAT, your critical reading and math scores will be used primarily.

Returning Students and Part-time Students
If you previously applied to Houghton or if you previously attended Houghton and withdrew, you must complete the re-application. A college transcript will also be required if you have attended another college since your last application to Houghton. You can submit a paper re-application or re-apply online.
If you wish to apply as a part-time student or to take a Mayterm or Summer course, you must fill out our Special Student Application.
