Forbes: America's Best Colleges

Houghton College ranks in the top 3% of colleges nationwide according to the fourth-annual ranking of America's Best Colleges, compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP).

Inclusion in the rankings indicates that the institution meets a certain level of quality, since only the top 15% of institutions are ranked.

US News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" Guide has consistently ranked Houghton among the elite national liberal arts colleges that are the 'most selective' and 'most solid' institutions in the country. Houghton ranks in the “national” category, an important distinction that signifies the college’s reputation and academic achievements. It was one of only 14 member schools of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities included in the listing, and was one of the eight that were ranked in the first tier.

Princeton ReviewHoughton College is noted as one of the Best Colleges in the Northeast by The Princeton Review.

Says Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s Senior VP / Publisher, “We’re pleased to recommend Houghton College to users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree. We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as ‘regional best’ colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisors whose recommendations we invite. We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences at them on our 80-question student survey for this project.
