Encounter Days

Encounter Days provide a full-day's experience on the Houghton campus, with activities planned for prospective students and parents. Sit in on a class, chat with professors, talk with an admission counselor, tour the campus with a student guide and get a real sense for campus life.

Some Encounter Days have a specific academic focus.  These days include additional activities for students pursuing select professions and academic programs.  Through special sessions, seminars, and talks with recent grads and practicing professionals, you'll learn about how we get you ready for graduate school and the workforce.

Important Note

Due to the volume of participation in our Encounter Days, some visit activities, such as campus tours, admission sessions, and other sessions, will be group-oriented and may not offer the fully individualized experience of an individual visit.

Arrival/Departure Times

The registration desk will be open the night before (7-9:00 p.m.) and the morning of (7:30-8:15 a.m.) each Encounter Day.  The registration desk is located in the Reinhold Campus Center. The Encounter Day will conclude around 3:30 p.m.  Please call the Visit Office with questions at 800-777-2556.
