Individual Visits
An individual visit is best for either a more detailed follow-up visit to campus or for students and families who would like a more customized schedule that meets their individual interests and needs. Your intended visit day must be at least one week from today's date. If you wish to schedule a visit before this date, please call the Visit Office to check on availability. While individual visits are available during the week (Monday through Friday), we recommend that you schedule your visit on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday during the academic year since these days will allow you to attend one of our chapel services. Class visits are available during the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session. During the visit, we are pleased to provide you with complimentary meals in the dining hall for you and any accompanying family members. Additionally, we are happy to do our best to schedule special activities at your request! Don't forget...in order to get a full experience for life at Houghton, please consider staying overnight in one of our residence halls.
Activities typically included on an individual visit:
- a student-led campus tour
- time to visit with an admission counselor
- a financial aid informational meeting
- opportunities to visit classes and meet one-on-one with a professor (during the academic year)
- information session with a coach
Weekend Visits
Those who are not able to visit campus on a weekday are welcome to register for a scaled-down visit on a Saturday. With five-day advance notice we can arrange campus tours and a visit with an admission counselor between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Saturday visits are available during the academic year only (September through April). Please note that the Admission Office is not open on Sunday and some major holidays.
