Guest Executive Dinner: Gary Bahler

Houghton College is pleased to welcome Gary Bahler ’73, as February’s Guest Executive Dinner speaker Friday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m.
Bahler is the senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Foot Locker, Inc. and a member of its executive committee. He has been an attorney in the law department of Foot Locker, Inc., or its predecessor companies, since 1980, general counsel since 1993, and a senior vice president since 1998.
In 2012, Foot Locker Inc. had worldwide sales of $6 billion.
Foot Locker Inc. is the world’s leading retailer of athletically inspired footwear and apparel. Headquartered in New York City, it operates 3,300 athletic retail stores in 23 countries in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand under the brand names Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Footaction, Champs Sports, SIX:02, and The Locker Room. The company also operates a direct-to-customers business offering athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment through its internet, mobile, and catalog channels.
Bahler currently sits on the Houghton College Board of Trustees. He received his bachelor’s degree from Houghton College then went on to Cornell University to receive his juris doctorate.
The monthly Guest Executive Dinner series is sponsored by Houghton's business department to increase student exposure to marketplace professionals from various fields and open the doors to service opportunities. Bahler will lecture on Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. in the South End Dining Room in the Houghton College dining hall. This event is open to all Houghton students, faculty and the general public and requires the purchase of a meal in the dining hall.
