An opening reception for the Houghton Art Faculty Exhibition will be held on Friday, September 20, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The reception will be held in the Center for the Arts atrium and will include comments by art department faculty at 7:30 p.m., followed by live music and refreshments. This is a free event, and all Houghton faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to attend.
The Houghton Art Faculty Exhibition features work by faculty in Houghton’s art and communication departments, including Gary Baxter, David Huth, Theodore Murphy, John Rhett, Jillian Sokso and newest faculty member, Ryann Cooley. The exhibit emphasizes the faculty’s diverse areas of interest and media, ranging in disciplines of ceramics, painting, photography and printmaking.
The Ortlip Art Gallery is an all-purpose exhibition space in the Center for the Arts at Houghton College. The exhibit program of the Ortlip Gallery presents a diverse range of innovative exhibitions and educational programs offering insights into the work of established and emerging regional, national, and international artists and designers.
The Houghton Art Faculty Exhibition is open daily from August 30 until October 2. Visitors may browse the gallery from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, visit www.houghton.edu/art/ortlip-gallery .
