Houghton hosts David Tideman as April's Guest Executive Dinner Speaker

Houghton College is pleased to welcome David Tideman ‘79 to speak as April’s Guest Executive Dinner speaker on Friday, April 19, 2013. Tideman has worked with State Farm Insurance for over 25 years.
Tideman is counsel in the Corporate Law Department of State Farm Insurance Companies, the nation’s largest insurer of automobiles and homes. He is a 1979 graduate of Houghton College (B.A.) and 1982 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law (J.D.). He is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey, and is a licensed in-house corporate counsel in Pennsylvania.
Tideman’s primary practice areas include public policy, government relations, and regulatory/legislative and compliance matters for State Farm. His 26 years with the company have also involved work with claims, public affairs and media, and internal consulting. Tideman serves as vice-chair of the board of Wilmington Christian School in Delaware and on the Houghton President’s Advisory Board. Tideman and his wife, Linnea, reside in Chester County, southeastern Pennsylvania, and have three daughters, Kristen, Sara, and current Houghton student, Lauren ’14.
Houghton holds monthly Guest Executive Dinners for the purpose of exposing both business and non-business students to marketplace professionals from a variety of fields and areas of expertise. Tideman will lecture on Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. in the South End Dining Room in the Houghton College dining hall. This is a “scan-in-and-pick-up-your-meal” event open to all Houghton students, faculty and the general public.
