May 1, 2013 | 11:30 AM to 12:10 PM
Dr. Michael Jordan will be officially introduced as the new Dean of Chapel on Wednesday, May 1. The service is open to the public and will be held in Wesley Chapel from 11:30 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.
Dr. Jordan is a 1999 graduate of Houghton College where he majored in both history and Bible. After achieving his bachelor’s degree, Jordan continued on to earn both a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Seminary and a Ph.D. at Drew University.
“Dr. Michael Jordan brings the combination of academic and pastoral experience, engaging interpersonal skills, and practical wisdom that make him an ideal candidate for Houghton’s next dean of the chapel,” said President Shirley Mullen. “In this capacity, he partners with our academic and student life leadership to plan the college’s integrative Christian liberal arts educational curriculum and to give leadership to the spiritual development of our students”.
At the induction ceremony, the Houghton College Choir will perform as well as a message from President Mullen and a sermon from Dr. Jordan.
