Considering a career in business or accounting?

A Houghton degree in business or accounting can open doors to a variety of careers. In a recent survey of graduates, 100 percent of those responding reported being employed in their field or attending graduate school within one year of graduation. Additionally, Houghton students ranked in the top three percent of business students nationwide according to a recent exam. This marks yet another year when Houghton students have ranked in the tenth percentile or higher.

Houghton’s Opportunity Day in Business will provide answers to your questions and offer you insights into how Houghton can exceptionally prepare you for your chosen career. Learn about career options, talk with business majors and faculty members, observe a class, and more!

While the study and practice of law have ancient roots, they also play a dynamic role in today’s world. Few fields so effectively combine theory and practice, opening diverse avenues for applying the tools of intellect to the problems of society. Pre-law studies at Houghton College combine the liberal arts advantage with the lens of Christian understanding.

“Change the world—one person at a time.”  That is a common goal for students who major in psychology at Houghton.  A degree in psychology enables students to understand why we think, feel, and act as we do. Psychology majors gain perspective on their own experiences, develop sympathetic understanding of others, and learn ways to help people in need.

A distinctive feature of the psychology and sociology majors at Houghton is the integration of academic study and the Christian faith. We seek to understand psychological and sociological principles from the perspective of Christian faith, and to see how psychology and sociology can illuminate and strengthen our faith. Such integrative learning occurs in our classes, our research, and our service.
