Objectives

Houghton College Volleyball Camp provides a healthy and wholesome atmosphere in which campers can enjoy playing volleyball and developing friendships. Time will be spent on developing the person as well as the athlete.
Our goal is to motivate the skilled player, while teaching the beginner the basics to building a strong foundation in volleyball. We will cover all aspects of the game on individual and team levels. The 4-2, 5-1, and 6-2 offenses, as well as popular defenses, will be taught. Previous experience is not necessary.

Coaches

Director - Coach Nancy Cole
Coach Cole is in her 16th year as women’s head volleyball coach at Houghton. Her teams have won 270 matches during that time. She lead her team to their first-ever appearance at the NAIA National Championships in 1998. Posting a record of 27-9, the team won both their conference and regional championships to claim the right to advance to the National Tournament. In 2000, the team once again won both its conference and regional championships and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. Cole was named American Mideast Conference North Division Coach of the Year in 2002.
