Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry:  Open specialization

Full time.  Tenure track.  Fall 2014.

Opportunity:  Houghton College seeks a full-time, tenure-track, faculty appointment in the Department of Chemistry at the assistant or associate level starting in the Fall semester of 2014.  The candidate’s field of specialization is open, however those with backgrounds in physical and bio-physical chemistry, or bio-medical-, bio-molecular- or chemical engineering are especially desired.

Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will teach Physical Chemistry and a combination of introductory and upper-level lecture and laboratory courses in their area of chemical expertise.  Collaborative research with undergraduates is expected. 

Qualifications:  BS in chemistry plus a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field of engineering is required.   A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, strong communication skills, and an ability to mentor students are important qualities for this position. 

 Salary and Academic rank will be determined based on experience.
