Assistant or Associate Professor:  Educational Foundations - FALL 2013

Full time. Tenure track. Begin Fall 2013. Candidates are invited to join a robust and growing department of education.  Our faculty are social-constructivists who actively work toward integrating faith and scholarly work in their classrooms as well as in the local community. Our potential for diverse teaching placements in the greater western New York region as well as overseas provides unique and challenging opportunities for both our students and faculty.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have focused responsibilities in teaching courses that address the social, cultural, historical and philosophical foundations of education.  Other responsibilities include academic advising, mentoring of student teachers, and building educational partnerships.

Qualifications: A terminal degree in the field of Education is required at the time of hire. Preference will be given to candidates with disciplinary expertise across one or more content areas, and classroom teaching experience.  Expertise in TESOL, adolescence education, and/or urban education is desirable, and facility with educational technologies and responsive course delivery models is expected.  A maturing Christian faith, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to mentor students are vital qualities.

Rank and Salary:  Determination of rank and salary is based upon education and experience.
