I came to Houghton in 2013 with 18 years of experience teaching and coaching middle and high school students. After earning my doctorate at Aurora University in 2007, I also began teaching methods courses at Aurora University and Trinity Christian College. My professional interests include educational foundations, curriculum and instruction, as well as mentoring pre-service educators. When I am not visiting schools or in class, my office door is open and you are always welcome to stop by and chat about class, a practicum experience, or other things in life!
I have a fabulous wife and daughter, and we enjoy just about any outdoor recreational activity. We especially enjoy traveling to the mountains of Colorado to hike, bike, kayak, or simply enjoy God’s creation. As a graduate of a small, Christian, liberal arts college similar to Houghton, I believe your undergraduate years can truly be a life-forming experience. Indeed, I can attribute much of the development of my personality, character, and faith to those four years. I hope and pray your time at Houghton will equally impact your life!
