Assistant Director of Choral Activities; Coordinator of Music Admissions and Recruitment
As a member of the Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College faculty, Kevin M. Dibble serves as the Assistant Director of Choral Activities. At Houghton, Dibble is the conductor of the college Men’s Choir, the Women’s Choir, Kantorei, and is the founding director of the newly formed ensemble The Houghton Singers. He also teaches private conducting and voice lessons.
At the Greatbatch School of Music, Kevin Dibble also serves as the Coordinator for Music Admissions and Recruitment. In this capacity, Dibble acts as a liaison, guiding and aiding prospective music students as they consider and prepare to enter into full-time music study at the collegiate level. Dibble is also responsible for formulating and implementing new recruitment models and strategies for the Greatbatch School of Music.
Beyond his conducting at Houghton College, Dibble is also the Rehearsal Assistant for the professional choir Vox Lumine.
While the majority of Dibble’s conducting experience has been choral, he is a lover of orchestral music and choral-orchestral masterworks. Dibble has a close relationship with other musical organizations across the state and has served as a guest conductor and clinician for several vocal and instrumental ensembles.
Recently, Dibble has presented master-classes in vocal pedagogy and choral techniques to high school students and high school teachers as part of the Houghton College Choir’s “Sacred Honor Choir” program. While teaching and working with young singers, Kevin presented on topics including choral tone, effective ensemble performance, and healthy vocal production.
Dibble earned his Bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education as well as his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, with a secondary emphasis in voice, from the Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College.
Kevin and his wife Anna are both active members of the Houghton Community and greatly enjoy taking advantage of all that the area has to offer. They enjoy hiking, camping, biking, and kayaking together.
