Rebekah is a 2001 Graduate of the Houghton College School of Music where she received her undergraduate degree in Music Education. A student of Kelley Hijleh (voice) and Dr. Julie Tunstall (flute) Rebekah studied and graduated with concentrations in both Instrumental and Vocal music. After teaching the public school system of Pennsylvania for 8 years, Rebekah and her husband moved to Houghton where she taught music at Houghton Academy for 6 years. Her love of all music has facilitated opportunities for Rebekah to teach in a wide variety of situations including directing both instrumental and vocal ensembles, hand bells groups, general music, music history and theory classes as well as private lessons. In addition to being a music educator, Rebekah has been a guest conductor for both instrumental and vocal festivals in NY and PA. She has directed multiple pop and vocal ensembles and coached her ensembles to win awards in both local and state-wide competitions.

An avid theatre fan, Rebekah is active in local and community theatre. She has performed in over 30 productions over the years, playing such roles as Marion in Merideth Wilson's The Music Man, and The Narrator in Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Rebekah has also produced and directed over 25 productions including the Loesser/Swerling/Burrows classic Guys and Dolls, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey's Grease, and the long-time Rogers and Hammerstein classic, Oklahoma! Her love of bringing music and stories to life along with helping young people discover and develop their talents has lead to many opportunities to meet and interact with a large variety of people, and it is because of this that she is very excited to work with Houghton A Cappella.

Rebekah has also worked as a church worship leader and has been a speaker and worship leader at Women's conferences in both NY and PA.

Rebekah and her husband, Jonathan, have two sweet kids; a daughter named Elsa, and a son named Owen. Over the past three years, they have also been homestay parents to 7 international Chinese students attending Houghton Academy. Along with their dog, Shiloh, and cat, Kulau the Brennan family live and love life in rural Allegany County.
