PART-TIME Faculty Position in Jazz Studies/Jazz Ensemble Director

This is a part-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Jazz as well as leading rehearsals and performances with the Jazz Ensembles.

All music faculty members are expected to participate in music admissions activities (i.e. recruiting and auditioning students); recruit for all programs; participate in events such as the Christmas PRISM and contribute to the life of the college.


Doctoral degree in Jazz or related area preferred (Master’s degree required), including evidence of significant music teaching and performance, with a minimum of 3 (three) years teaching at the collegiate level.

Also required is ability to help students form respectful attitudes and interactions with people who differ in abilities, attitudes, and cultural experience, with sensitivity to factors that affect our own assessment of others.

Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith into their teaching.
