Full-Time Faculty Position in Music Education Tenure Track

Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching Music Education courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels that may include Elementary Music Education Methods, Secondary Choral Methods and Instrumental Methods, among others.

Other responsibilities include coordination and supervision of student teachers as well as maintaining a strong relationship with NAfME/NYSSMA and developing strategic partnerships by networking with Music Educators in the Northeast region and beyond. All music faculty members are expected to participate in music admissions activities (i.e. recruiting and auditioning students); recruit for all programs; participate in events such as the Christmas PRISM and contribute to the life of the college.


Doctoral degree in Music Education, including evidence of significant music teaching, including a minimum of 3 (three) years in public schools.

Also required is ability to help students form respectful attitudes and interactions with people who differ in abilities, attitudes, and cultural experience, with sensitivity to factors that affect our own assessment of others.

Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith into their teaching.
