PT Adjunct - Applied Violin/Viola

Primary responsibilities include teaching Applied Violin and Viola courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Other responsibilities may include coordination and direction of the Houghton College String Quartet and Chamber music program.
All music faculty members are expected to participate in music admissions activities (i.e. recruiting and auditioning students); recruit for all programs; participate in events such as the Christmas PRISM and contribute to the life of the college.
Master’s degree required
Doctoral degree in Violin (preferred)
Also required is ability to help students form respectful attitudes and interactions with people who differ in abilities, attitudes, and cultural experience, with sensitivity to factors that affect our own assessment of others.
Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith into their teaching.
