INTS 164 Contemporary Contexts Honors: Modernity and Postmodernity

Integrative exploration of Western Modernity from World War I to the present, with special consideration of the meaning of “postmodernity”. Investigates modern and postmodern understandings of what it means to be rational, social, material, free, a self, and “postmodern”. Background lectures interspersed with frequent seminar-style discussions of primary texts and works of art; regular paper assignments. Liberal Arts.
