Alumni Pastors Appreciation Day

Houghton College is pleased that so many of our alumni are serving the Lord in the pastoral ministry and other church-related vocations, and our desire is to serve and resource you in any way we can.

As a small expression of our appreciation, we would like to invite you to campus on July 3, 2007 for a day of connecting, sharing, and learning.  Our featured speaker for the day will be Dr. J. Michael Walters, chair of Houghton’s Religion and Philosophy Department, who will be leading two sessions on the spiritual life of the pastor.

Here’s the schedule for the day:

9:00 a.m.         Welcome reception in the campus center
9:45 a.m.         Dr. Mike Walters:  “The Pastor’s Spiritual Life”
11:15 a.m.       Chapel with Dr. John Brittain (Dean of the Chapel)
12:00 noon      Luncheon
1:15 p.m.         Dr. Mike Walters:  “The Pastor’s Spiritual Life”
2:15 p.m.         Break
2:30 p.m.         Discussion and interaction
3:30 p.m.         On the road

The Office of Church Relations is covering all costs for this event, so there will be no charge for you to attend.   Spouses are welcome.  If you attend, you will also receive a complimentary copy of Dr. Walters’ latest book: Can’t Wait for Sunday: Leading Your Congregation in Authentic Worship.
