Richard J. Mouw
Richard J. Mouw is a 1961 graduate of Houghton College. He earned his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Chicago and taught for seventeen years on the Calvin College faculty. He moved to Fuller Theological Seminary faculty in 1985, and was appointed to the seminary's presidency in 1993, retiring from that role in 2013. Mouw now serves as Professor of Faith and Public Life at Fuller.
The author of twenty-one books, Mouw also writes a regular column, "Civil Evangelicalism," for Religion News Service. He has been a visiting professor at the Free University of Amsterdam, and served a term as President of the Association of Theological School in the United States and Canada.
He has been married for fifty-seven years to Phyllis (a Houghton native). Their son Dirk, daughter-in-law Christine, and two grandsons, live in Little Rock, Arkansas.
