Brian Webb

Prior to being hired as Sustainability Coordinator in 2012, Brian spent five years as Houghton’s Director of Intercultural Student Programs. Since arriving to Houghton in 2007, Brian has served on the Creation Care Task Force, the Creation Care Committee, and the energy working group for Houghton’s Climate Action Plan. Outside Houghton, Brian has lectured, preached, and taught on creation care and sustainability in a variety of venues. He also worked for two years with Blessed Earth, a Christian nonprofit focusing on creation care education and mobilization for Christian communities. Brian holds a Master of Science in Experiential Education and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard Extension School.

As the Sustainability Coordinator, Brian leads the college’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability and wise stewardship at an institutional level. This includes planning and leading student programming activities, coordinating with faculty to incorporate sustainability into the curriculum, working with facilities to reduce energy use and promote sustainable operations, and overseeing the college’s adherence to the President’s Climate Commitment goal of being energy neutral by 2050.
