The Houghton Environmental Club is sponsoring Dive, the film: Follow filmmaker Jeremy Seifert and his circle of friends as they “dumpster dive” in the back alleys and gated garbage receptacles of L.A.’s supermarkets. In the process, they uncover thousands of dollars worth of good food and an ugly truth about waste in America.

Houghton Environmental Club is sponsoring the viewing of Food, Inc.: Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield Farms' Gary Hirschberg and Polyface Farms' Joe Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising -- and often shocking truths -- about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are
going from here.

- Wednesday, April 21, 10:15 – Chapel: Dr. Steven Bouma-Prediger of Hope College
Bouma-Prediger is a professor of religion and chairperson of the department of religion at Hope. His scholarship focuses on ecology and theology. His numerous publications include the books Beyond Homelessness: Christian Faith in a Culture of Displacement and For the Beauty of the Earth: A Christian Vision for Creation Care which won an "Award of Merit" from Christianity Today.
