Advisor Information
Housing
Because of our rural location, there are very few accommodation options available to Houghton visitors. Please read through the following choices below to determine which housing option is best for you.
Please note that the Inn at Houghton Creek has a limited capacity and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions about advisor housing should be directed to Dennis Stack at 585-567-9227 or by emailing ncmslc@houghton.edu.
- The Inn at Houghton Creek – Houghton’s only hotel is located within walking distance of the campus and features 17 comfortable rooms. Because of limited accommodation space, we request that those who reserve one of the 11 rooms with two queen-sized beds make arrangements to share the room with another advisor. There are six rooms with one king-sized bed for those who do not wish to share a room. To contact the Inn please call (585) 567-8400 or email innkeeper@innathoughtoncreek.com. Be sure to mention that you are with the NCMSLC. A shared room with two queen-sized beds will cost a total of $106.86 after tax (split two ways = $53.43 per person). Six of the rooms have only 1 king-sized bed and also cost $106.86, except the premium king-sized bedroom, which costs $133.88.
- Community Housing – Houghton has many community members, including faculty and staff from the college, who regularly house college guests in their homes for a small fee. These private rooms are comfortable and well kept. Most are within walking distance of the college. To make a reservation with Houghton Community Housing, please email community.housing@houghton.edu. Be sure to mention that you are with NCMSLC - otherwise you might not get a room. Community housing is filled on a first-come, first-served basis and costs $25 per person per night. The deadline for reservation requests is October 12.
- Other – If you prefer alternative arrangements, there are a few small bed and breakfasts within 20 minutes of Houghton. For a full listing of these, please visit http://www.houghton.edu/admission/visiting/lodging_dining.htm. Anything else is a 45-minute drive from campus. If you prefer this option you may check hotels in Hornell, Olean, Wellsville, Mt. Morris, or Geneseo.
