Assistant or Associate Professor of Inclusive (Special) Education
Full time. Tenure track. Begin Fall 2012. Candidates are invited to join a robust and growing department of education. Our faculty are social-constructivists who actively work toward integrating faith and scholarly work in their classrooms as well as in the local community. Our potential for diverse teaching placements in the greater western New York region as well as overseas provides unique and challenging opportunities for both our students and faculty.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have focused responsibilities in Inclusive (Special) Education that will include academic advising, classroom teaching (individually and/or collaboratively) in the area of effective inclusive practices, mentoring of student teachers, and building educational partnerships.
Qualifications: A terminal degree in Special Education is required at the time of hire. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive expertise in inclusive (special) education, disciplinary expertise across one or more content areas, and classroom teaching experience. An ability to expand and sustain urban connections would further enhance the candidate’s qualifications. A mature Christian faith, strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to mentor students are vital qualities.
Rank and Salary: Determination of rank and salary is based upon education and experience.
