Assistant or Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics

Houghton College, a Christian liberal arts institution nationally recognized by U.S. News and World Report, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty appointment in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Join an energetic mathematics faculty with a focus on helping students collaborate and communicate mathematics.
Responsibilities: Teach a range of introductory and upper-level undergraduate mathematics courses, advise and interact with students, assist in curriculum development, and develop undergraduate research with students. While the course load is negotiable, will likely include some of Probability & Statistics I&II, Mathematical Modeling, Multivariate Calculus, Differential Equations, and possibly one or two introductory programming courses, depending on the expertise of the applicant.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the Mathematical Sciences by the time of appointment and experience in some applied mathematics or statistics area. Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills, demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching in the liberal arts and sciences, and have a strong commitment to Christian faith. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Some preliminary interviews will be conducted at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Boston in January.
Salary and Rank: Assignment of faculty rank and salary is dependent upon education and experience.
