Training and Development
Professional Development is available to all staff, regardless of experience or educational background. Programs are offered during work hours, and supervisors are encouraged to allow employees to participate. Employees who attend Professional Development programs during work hours are compensated at the usual rate of pay.
Professional Development Programs:
- Encourage employees to hone skills by providing instruction and practice in work-related areas such as supervising, writing, teambuilding, budgeting, and technology.
- Improve interpersonal skills through human relations training and increase productivity by improving communications between managers and employees.
- Foster good employee relations and reduce turnover by sponsoring programs that lead to greater job satisfaction and promotional opportunities.
- Provide knowledge of the appropriate application to
employees to enhance the quality of work life for Houghton
College employees.
