After Houghton
Our graduates are practicing musicians in a variety of settings and capacities. Some go on to graduate school, continuing their studies in our own graduate programs in the Greatbatch School of Music or in a variety of exceptional institutions around the country. Some are working in opera and musical theater. Some are recording artists, independent performers, and gigging in bands. Others are members or directors of professional choirs, chamber ensembles, touring companies, and orchestras. Our graduates are instrument curators, music librarians, and accompanists. They work in music technology. Some are church musicians, directors of worship, organists, and choir conductors.
Many of our graduates choose service in music education. We are pleased to be in our 10th year of 95-100% of graduates who seek teaching positions having secured them within six months of graduation. Our graduates teach in private studios. They teach in public and private schools, colleges, and universities. Our graduates teach across the globe, from Western New York and throughout the northeast to as far abroad as Nairobi, Kenya.
