CONCERTANTE
OCTOBER 26 | 7:30 P.M.
The six musicians of the string sextet Concertante are outstandingly gifted young artists who have won major national and international music competitions and have appeared on the premiere stages of the world from New York’s Carnegie Hall to Royal Festival Hall in London and Shanghai’s Grand Theatre. Founded in 1995 by a group of Juilliard graduates, Concertante has established itself as a chamber ensemble that combines world-class virtuosity with an adventurous exploration of the contemporary and classical chamber music repertory.
The group performs in varied combinations of instrumentalists in a wide array of repertoire, ranging from works by established masters to less commonly performed composers.
For its performances, Concertante has garnered high praise from reviews in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post, among others, with accolades for the group’s “beautifully polished sound” and “dazzling displays of virtuosity.”
