Chamber Woodwinds

Flute Ensemble

Led by Dr. Angela Kinney McBrearty, instructor of flute, the Flute Ensemble consists of piccolo, C flute, alto flute, and bass flute.  The group performs music of all periods, from baroque to the 20th century.  The Flute Ensemble is open to anyone who has played flute for a minimum of 4 years, with no audition necessary. Course credit is available for non-music majors who wish to play with the Flute Ensemble.  Consisting of 5 to 10 players, the group performs each semester during the student concert series.  Contact the music office for more information or to sign up to participate.

Chamber Wind Ensemble

The Chamber Wind Ensemble (CWE) is made up of members of the Symphonic Winds, selected for specific performances.  CWE's recent repertoire includes Mendelssohn’s Notturno (Overture), Dvorak’s Serenade, Op. 22, Gounod’s Petite Symphonie, Gillingham’s Waking Angels, Mozart’s Serenade, op. 375, Strauss’s Serenade, op. 7, and Grainger’s Hill-Song No. 2.
