Philharmonia, Symphonic Winds & College Choir Concert

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Be prepared for music to swell within the walls of Wesley Chapel as the Houghton College Philharmonia, Symphonic Winds and College Choir present a concert on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Wesley Chapel. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

This Music Opportunities Weekend concert will feature choral, wind, and orchestral ensembles from Houghton. Traditional spirituals, hymn tunes and Mongolian sounds; music of Berlioz, Hindemith, Vaughan Williams, Holsinger; and music to mark the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death—a symphony and “hunting horn” prelude music performed by 12 French horns!   .

Sure to be an evening of musical highlights featuring ensembles of outstanding talent, Houghton College invites the entire community to take part and enjoy these musical presentations. For more information, please contact the Houghton College Greatbatch School of Music at 585.567.9400.
