The Houghton College campus store will be celebrating National Student Day, a day dedicated to celebrating and promoting social responsibility and volunteerism by college students, on Thursday, October 3, from 9a.m. to 8p.m.

The Houghton College campus store will host a variety of different events including free popcorn from 11a.m. to 1p.m., double stamp day for Arizona Tea, Farkle game stations and a discount and prize wheel for students with an ID.

The store is also partnering with the Center for Faith, Justice, and Global Engagement to collect donations for the Top 5 Food Drive, as well as collecting school supplies, health and beauty items and clothes to benefit Wellspring Ministries in Belfast, NY.

National Student Day is sponsored by the National Association of College Stores, the professional trade association that represents more than 3,100 collegiate retailers and approximately 1,000 associate members who supply books and other products to college stores.

The Houghton College campus store is taking this opportunity to recognize that students are committing selfless acts every day. “Our students continue to improve the campus community and beyond through a variety of different activities and services they provide,” said Heléna Oden, director of the campus store. “We are proud of our students and are taking the opportunity to recognize them.”

The Houghton College Campus Store is a full service retail store serving the students, faculty and staff of Houghton College, and the local community.  Located in the Reinhold Campus Center, the store is open from 9a.m.–8p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9a.m.–6p.m. Friday, and 11a.m.–2p.m. Saturday, with a complete supply of course materials and Highlander merchandise.
