Houghton College is pleased to announce the performance of the Geneseo Wind Quintet on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 6:30 pm in the Recital Hall. This concert is free and open to the public.

In residence at Geneseo College for over 30 years, the Geneseo Wind Quintet has acquired a well-deserved reputation as one of the foremost wind quintets in the region. The group has appeared on PBS, at numerous conventions, and in a wide variety of chamber music series. In addition to their appearances with the ensemble, members of the quintet also frequently perform with other ensembles in the area, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. The pieces to be performed include Suite of Old Lettish Dances by Andrejs Jansons, Roaring Fork by Eric Ewazen, and Suite in G by Jean-Philippe Rameau.

All members of the quintet teach their respective instruments to wind majors and other qualified students at the college, and coach various chamber ensembles as well. The members include Glennda Dove-Pellito, flute, Anna Steltenpohl, oboe, Ernest Lascell, clarinet, Martha Sholl, bassoon, and Mary Hickson Hunt, horn.
