On April 9, seven students and two professors from the Houghton College department of chemistry attended the Ninth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium sponsored by the Western New York Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Fulbright Grant Awarded to Houghton Alumnus

The Fulbright Program—whose alumni are speckled with Nobel Prize winners, Pulitzer Prize winners, and MacArthur Foundation Fellows—recently awarded Houghton alumnus Gerad Gentry ’10 a grant for use completing his doctoral research in philosophy at Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Potsdam, Germany.

Math Department Hosts Math Discovery Day for Local High School Students

Recently, Houghton College hosted nine area high schoolers for Math Discovery Day, an event designed to acquaint the students with math at the collegiate level. A Dolciani Grant from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) provided the funding.
