Duke Divinity Historian, Dr. Grant Wacker, to Speak at Houghton

Duke Divinity Historian Dr. Grant Wacker to Speak at Houghton Distinguished historian Dr. Grant Wacker is scheduled to speak Friday, October 10, at 1 p.m. in the Houghton College Center for the Arts Recital Hall. Wacker will speak about his forthcoming cultural biography about American Christian Evangelist Billy Graham. This event is free and open to the public. Wacker will also serve as the chapel speaker that same day at 11:05 a.m. in Wesley Chapel.

Houghton to Host Ministry Conference

Houghton College will host its first annual ministry conference entitled “We are the Pastors of New York State,” which will feature over 18 speakers, including pastors from throughout the state of New York as well as lecturers and workshop leaders. The one day conference will take place October 20, 2014. A $20 fee covers the conference, lunch and refreshments. Houghton College Breaks Ground on 2.5-Megawatt Solar Installation

Houghton College today announced that it has broken ground on a 2.5-megawatt (MW) solar energy installation that will provide more than half of the school’s electricity consumption and reduce its energy costs by approximately 46 percent. Expected to be completed in December, this installation will be the largest solar project on a college campus in Western New York and one of the largest in the entire state.
