Houghton College has been recognized by College Factual as a Best College for the Money.

Of the 1,325 universities included from across the United States, Houghton ranked in the top three percent for value. Additionally, the college earned second place in the Middle Atlantic region and 18th in New York State for the same category.

College Factual’s 2018 ranking report evaluates higher education institutions in categories such as value for the money, quality, diversity, and international value. All colleges in the Best College for the Money ranking have been judged on their ability to provide “quality education and economic value.”

Several academic programs at Houghton received honors in the report for providing a high-quality education at an affordable price. Houghton’s psychology and fine & studio arts programs placed in the top one percent nationwide for value. The general biology and communication & media studies programs both earned spots within the top two percent, while the overall biological/biomedical sciences and communication/journalism programs placed in the top four percent. Business, management, and marketing rounded out the top five percent, as did the overall visual and performing arts category.

Additionally, Houghton’s online psychology program was included as a top ranked online program for returning adults, placing in the top 10 percent of those measured.
